Job Description:

Job Summary

The Lead Project Engineer is the single point of accountability (SPA) to safely deliver the assigned brownfield projects and minor modifications in accordance with approved constraints of cost, quality, and schedule. Leads delivery of engineering & design, fabrication, installation, and commissioning of assigned site projects addressing operational risk, integrity, compliance, and revenue opportunities throughout life of field of a given asset.

 

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities

  • Asset Portfolio Management
  • Single Point of Accountability (SPA) for assigned site brownfield projects and minor modifications; establishing and
  • controlling the approved budget and schedule to deliver the activity set and act as a focal point in daily interactions
  • with EPC/EPCm and fabrication contractor(s).
  • Support Projects Team Leader, providing project input to establish the asset 8Q and annual activity plan
  • Manage budgets for site projects expenditure based on assigned activity set.
  • Support Projects Team Leader, to deliver larger site brownfield projects or functional initiatives and contribute to
  • learning and CI through lessons learnt
  • For assigned projects and or minor modifications, manage internal stakeholders and interfaces with facilities
  • engineering, site operations, reliability, Maintenance, Integrity, Procurement, Construction & Commissioning and
  • other stakeholders.
  • Support self-verification of conformance of team and contractors to Azule Energy’s process and procedures

 

People Management

  • Manage the EPC/EPCm contractors to deliver the assigned project and or minor modifications and direct activities of the assigned project team (including cost, planning, construction, etc.)
  • Provides technical review and sign-off (if appropriate) for project engineering matters, in compliance to Azule Energy’s procedures.

 

Contract Management

  • Oversee the assigned EPC/EPCm contractors’ resources to deliver the assigned projects or activities
  • Performance manage delivery by contractors by using global benchmarks, metrics and KPIs.

 

Project Controls and Performance

  • Support project controls activities including common processes and tools, performance monitoring of the site brownfield projects, post project evaluation, and benchmarking support to performance reviews/annual report preparation
  • Project Excellence and Transformation
  • Responsible for driving continuous improvement in site brownfield project delivery through Ways of Working, and common processes and tools.

  • Experience in implementing brownfield or revamp projects
  • Experience working for or performance managing an EPC/EPCm contractor
  • Broad understanding of Offshore operations, Turnarounds and Projects
  • Multidisciplinary engineering knowledge
  • Site Operations knowledge
  • Project Management knowledge

 

Requirements

  • Essential experience and skills & competencies
  • 10 years of relevant experience gained in the oil and gas or related industries
  • 5 years of experience successfully delivering projects through all stages i.e., from concept through handover with
  • emphasis on working at site

 

Essential Education

Degree in Engineering discipline

Position is based on Azule Energy HQ in Luanda
